Danny Reed

Voice of Georgia Southern  

Danny Reed has served as the Voice of the Georgia Southern Eagles' football, men's basketball and baseball teams since September 2015. He also hosts the weekly Hail Southern Live & Inside Georgia Southern Football coaches shows on radio & TV & as well as the Inside Eagle Nation podcast & emcees other major athletic & university events.

Before moving to Statesboro, GA, Reed was the broadcast/media relations manager for the Bowling Green Hot Rods for the 2015 season, handling radio play-by-play for the Tampa Bay Rays’ Class-A affiliate. He was named the Midwest League Broadcaster of the Year.

He also spent three seasons as radio play-by-play announcer for The Citadel’s football, men’s basketball and baseball teams in Charleston, SC from 2011-14, producing each broadcast, hosting weekly radio & TV coaches shows and maintaining the statewide radio network. While in Charleston, he also served as the radio voice of the Charleston RiverDogs, the New York Yankees' Class-A affiliate, from 2008-11.

Reed grew up in Cumberland, MD and graduated from Waynesburg University (PA) in 2007 with a B.A. in Communication emphasizing Sports Broadcasting/Sports Info & earned a minor in Marketing.
