Lance Medow is a versatile sports broadcaster, who has worked for a variety of media outlets and sports teams. He’s the play-by-play announcer for Columbia University football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball on SNY and ESPN+. Lance has been calling various events for the Lions since 2006 and serves as a play-by-play announcer and studio host for Westwood One Sports where he’s covered college basketball, college football, the NFL, NHL, PGA Tour and the Olympics since 2008. He’s called men’s and women’s basketball games in the NCAA Tournament.
In addition to his play-by-play work, Lance has worked for Sirius XM since 2009, hosting sports talk shows on both Mad Dog Sports and NFL Radio. He also served as the Pre/Half/Post Game Host for the WFAN Giants Radio Network for a decade while also hosting several shows and features on the team’s website since 2008.
Lance has also done on-air work for MLB.com, MTV, ESPN Radio and The High School Basketball Network, which afforded him the opportunity to call the McDonald’s All-American and Jordan Brand Classic Boys Games several times. Through his work on MTV, he served as the play-by-play announcer for their Spring Break Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament and Rock N’ Gol Celebrity Soccer Tournament. Lance is a graduate of NYU, where he studied broadcast journalism and began his on-air career on WNYU Radio as the voice of the “Violets” and a sports talk show host.
